We are headed on an adventure to Turkey and Greece.
This trip has grown legs along the way as we’ve included additional friends and family to join us. We will spend 11 days in Turkey – starting in Istanbul for 4 nights, then 4 nights in Cappadoccia and two nights on the Aegean Coast in a town of Selcuk near the famous ruins of Ephesus. We are joined by Barb and Les for this leg of the journey.
From the coast of Turkey we will take a short ferry ride to the Greek island of Samos where we will stay for 2 nights. Next we’ll fly to Athens and meet up with Julie and Burke to fly to Chania Crete. We have a car rented in Crete and will spend 3 nights with family in the Rethymnon area.
Next is 3 days in Athens with the six of us plus friends Ann and Jim from Park City Utah. We have a lovely apartment rented in an Athenian neighborhood with one tour planned each day. I’ve never actually taken any formal tours of the city – so this should be a different outlook on this city.
After Athens, we’ll leave Barb and Les to spend a couple more days in Athens while we head to the island of Mykonos where our sailing yacht Anastasia awaits us. On my last trip to Greece, I said I had to be on a boat on my next trip. 7 nights in the Cyclades on a 60′ monohull – with a captain. And four cabins for four people – what a luxury! We will sail in the Cyclades islands – specific itinerary to be determined by weather, winds and the whims of the crew and captain.
