Skopelos Town on a Rainy Sunday

Sunday started out a bit overcast, chilly and rainy. A good day to do some shopping and explore Skopelos Town. There was a lot of grazing done that day in the bars along the waterfront. Bill and I popped into St. Michael’s church for about 30 minutes of the Sunday liturgy. Services rotated through the many churches on the island as there is a limited number of priests assigned to Skopelos and there are more than 300 churches and chapels across the island.

There was a break in the dreary weather in the afternoon as we were hiking our way up the village to find Nouna’s house. It’s been years since we were up there and I had forgotten about the breathtaking views. The sun came out as we were working our way up to the Kastro. There is a little place that has setup tables and umbrellas on an open spot overlooking the sea.
