Our lodging just outside East entrance to Yellowstone Park.
Cute little creekside resort. With restaurant and WiFi 2 hrs a day. Situated in a box canyon. Clean. Needs a decorator to upscale cheesy decor a level or two.
We checked in and then took a late afternoon drive into the park to get Bill’s senior lifetime park pass for only $10. Drove as far as Fishing Bridge along the edge of Yellowstone Lake.
Our first glimpse of a geyser at Steamboat basin on the shores of the lake. How little we knew what to expect at Yellowstone. ..we thought it was a cloud coming off the lake. Hah..
The remnants of wildfires from 2003 on Eastern side of the park, 12 years later are grim, very little new growth.
